Keepr terms of use

If you got Keepr from the Mac App Store, your licence to use it is Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms sit alongside it and describe the subscription, what the app does and does not promise, and how to reach us. Where the two conflict on the licence itself, the Standard EULA wins.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Aymen Lasfar, a sole proprietor trading as LSFR Studio ("we", "us", "the Studio"). They are not an agreement with Apple. Apple is not a party to them and has no responsibility for Keepr or its content.

By installing or using Keepr you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. Licence to use Keepr

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to install and use Keepr on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with the App Store Usage Rules where the app was obtained from the App Store.

You may not:

  • redistribute, resell, rent or sublicense the app;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
  • remove or alter any copyright or licence notices;
  • circumvent, disable or tamper with the checks that distinguish the free version from Keepr Pro.

Keepr, its name, its icon and its source code remain our property. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

3. Keepr Pro subscription

The free version of Keepr is fully functional. Keepr Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes the free version's limits: your whole history stays readable rather than only the 4 most recent items in each popup, the promotional rows are removed, and captures are no longer badged.

  • Introductory price $0.99 per month for the first 3 months.
  • Standard price $7.99 per month afterwards.
  • Billing period Monthly, renewing automatically.
  • Payment Charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

Prices are stated in US dollars. The price you actually pay is the one shown in the App Store for your region at the time of purchase, which may differ because of local pricing tiers, currency and tax. The App Store is always the authoritative source for the price and the terms of your particular purchase.

The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Introductory pricing applies once per Apple Account, per Apple's rules; if you have already used it, the standard price applies.

4. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time, and you keep Pro features until the end of the period you have already paid for. To cancel, open System Settings, click your Apple Account, choose Media & Purchases, then Subscriptions, and turn off renewal for Keepr Pro. You can also manage it in the App Store app under your account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Purchases made through the App Store are refunded by Apple, not by us, under Apple's own policy. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have a consumer right of withdrawal or a statutory refund right under the law where you live, that right is unaffected by anything in these terms.

5. Your content is yours

Everything Keepr captures — clipboard items, screenshots, tasks and notes — belongs to you and stays on your Mac. We have no access to it, no copy of it and no ability to retrieve it. We claim no licence or right over it.

That cuts both ways: because we hold nothing, we cannot restore anything for you. If your library is lost through disk failure, accidental deletion, the automatic deletion setting or the history cap, it is gone unless you have your own backup. Keep backups. Keepr is not a backup system and should not be relied on as the only copy of anything you care about.

You are responsible for what you capture. If you copy material belonging to someone else, or personal data about other people, the obligations that come with holding it are yours.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Keepr to capture, store or process material unlawfully, and do not use it to record another person's clipboard, screen or credentials without their knowledge and agreement. Keepr is designed to record its own user's activity on their own machine, and installing it on a device to monitor somebody else may be illegal where you live.

7. No warranty

Keepr is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

In particular, and without limiting the above, we do not warrant that the credential-detection filters described in the privacy policy will identify every secret. They are heuristics. They can miss things and they can catch things they should not. Do not rely on them as your only protection for sensitive material.

Nothing here excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and if you are a consumer you keep all of your statutory rights.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for loss of data, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use Keepr.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Keepr in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ten US dollars.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

9. Changes to the app and these terms

Keepr is actively developed, and features may be added, changed or removed between versions. We will not deliberately change a release so that it deletes more of your data than the settings you have chosen imply.

These terms may be updated. The current version always lives at this address with its "last updated" date. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will note it here rather than change it silently. Continuing to use Keepr after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

10. Ending the agreement

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting Keepr, and cancelling any subscription separately as described in section 4. We may end it if you materially breach these terms. On termination the licence in section 2 stops, but the data on your Mac remains yours to keep or delete as you choose.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [[COUNTRY]], and the courts of [[COUNTRY]] have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
